FAQ

The questions everyone asks

Is it safe to connect my bank?

Yes. US users connect via Plaid — the same bank-connection layer used by Robinhood, Venmo, and most of fintech. UK users connect via Yapily, the FCA-regulated open-banking provider trusted by Wise, Intuit and Volt. Both are read-only — we see incoming royalty deposits but can't move a penny, and your bank credentials never touch our servers.

What happens to my data?

Your transactions are encrypted in transit and at rest. We don't sell, share, or train AI models on your data. You can delete everything from settings or by emailing support@royaltiapp.com — full erasure, no questions asked.

How does it know which payments are royalties?

A regex catches the obvious ones (PRS, ASCAP, PPL, BMI, AWAL, DistroKid, etc.) and a small AI classifier flags less obvious sub-publishers and indie distributors. You can confirm or dismiss anything we flag, and unrecognised credits are surfaced for you to review manually.

Can I forward statement PDFs too?

Yes. Every account gets a unique @ingest.royaltiapp.com address. Forward (or CC) any royalty statement email and we'll parse the totals into your dashboard automatically. Works with PDF attachments and inline tables.

Does it work outside the UK / US?

Plaid covers the US and Canada. Yapily covers the UK. We auto-convert GBP to USD using same-day FX rates so your dashboard always shows a unified total.
